TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
One of the key elements that sets Scouting apart from other youth organizations is
the emphasis and insistence that every leader be trained in their position. Training is
available at all levels and offered several times throughout the year. Our Scouts
deserve trained leaders.

Wood Badge for the 21st Century is advance training course for adult leaders in the programs of Cub
Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, or Venturing, as well as, District and Council leaders.  The course
focuses on values and leadership.  Through the course, participants will be able to:

View Scouting as a family of interelated, values-based programs, with age-appropriate youth activities.
Recognize contemporary leadership concepts that are relevant to our values-base movement.
Apply skills learned from participation as a member of a successful working team.
Revitalize commitment by sharing an experience that helps provide needed Scouting values and
leadership.

Cost: $210.00,(due by) plus your camping gear both weekends, plus your team will supply its own food
for 2nd weekend. A deposit of at least $50.00 is required with each application; full payment. This
training is NOT reimbursed by the troop. Volunteers pay for it on their own.

Uniforms: Your current official BSA uniform (shirt, pants & belt); hat will be supplied

Prerequisites: You should have completed basic/fundamental training for your Scouting position plus
current BSA Class 3 Medical From signed by appropriate medical person.
